Car Lab Detailers LLC
Terms & Conditions
Effective Date: September 7, 2026
Welcome to Car Lab Detailers.
These Terms & Conditions govern appointments, deposits, estimates, vehicle services, purchases, communications, website use, and other transactions with Car Lab Detailers, LLC.
By scheduling an appointment, paying a deposit, approving an estimate or work order, signing a service agreement, dropping off a vehicle, authorizing services, or purchasing services from Car Lab, you agree to the applicable provisions of these Terms.
Service-specific agreements, estimates, warranties, and work orders may contain additional terms.
Appointments, Deposits & Scheduling
Appointment Deposits
A 20% nonrefundable deposit is required to reserve any appointment with Car Lab unless otherwise agreed in writing.
The deposit:
- Reserves shop capacity and technician time.
- May be used in planning labor, materials, and scheduling.
- Is applied toward the final balance of the scheduled service.
- Is nonrefundable if the customer cancels, fails to appear, or chooses not to proceed with the scheduled service, except where otherwise required by law or expressly agreed to by Car Lab in writing.
An appointment is not confirmed until the required deposit has been received.
Gift Card Appointments:
Appointments booked using a Car Lab Detailers gift card are subject to the same deposit, cancellation, and rescheduling policies. The required deposit must still be paid at the time of booking unless otherwise approved by Car Lab in writing. Gift card value may be applied toward the final service balance, but does not replace or waive the required appointment deposit.
Rescheduling
More Than 48 Hours Before the Appointment
Appointments may be rescheduled with more than 48 hours' notice without an additional deposit, subject to availability.
Within 48 Hours
Rescheduling within 48 hours of the scheduled appointment requires an additional 20% Rescheduling Deposit.
Both the original deposit and the additional Rescheduling Deposit will be credited toward the final balance when the rescheduled service is completed.
Repeated Rescheduling
After the customer's third reschedule, the original 20% appointment deposit will be forfeited and will no longer be credited toward the final service balance.
Any additional deposits not otherwise forfeited will continue to be handled according to the applicable appointment terms.
Further rescheduling may require a new deposit before another appointment is reserved.
Car Lab may waive or modify these requirements at its discretion in cases of emergency or exceptional circumstances.
Cancellations & No-Shows
Deposits are nonrefundable when a customer cancels an appointment, fails to arrive, or otherwise decides not to proceed with the scheduled service.
Customers who expect to be late should contact Car Lab as soon as possible.
Significant delays may require the appointment to be rescheduled.
Car Lab may reschedule or cancel appointments due to employee illness, equipment failure, weather, material availability, unsafe conditions, or other circumstances reasonably outside our control.
If Car Lab cancels an appointment and cannot reasonably reschedule the service, amounts paid for services not performed will be refunded.
Estimates & Service Authorization
Estimates
Car Lab may provide an estimate, quote, work order, or other description of the services to be performed and applicable pricing.
Estimates are based on the information and vehicle condition reasonably available at the time they are prepared.
Conditions discovered after inspection, washing, disassembly, decontamination, polishing, film removal, or other service procedures may affect the recommended scope of work.
Car Lab will obtain additional authorization where required before performing materially additional billable work beyond the authorized estimate.
Additional Work
Car Lab will not intentionally perform material additional billable services outside the approved scope without customer authorization.
Authorization may be provided through:
- Electronic signature
- Text message
- Telephone authorization documented by Car Lab
- Install Studio approval
- Other legally acceptable methods
Car Lab may pause work while waiting for approval.
Any resulting delay in completion does not constitute a breach of the service agreement.
Vehicle Drop-Off & Check-In
Drop-Off
Customers should arrive at the scheduled appointment time unless other arrangements have been made.
At check-in, Car Lab may:
- Confirm customer information
- Confirm vehicle information
- Confirm authorized services
- Review pricing
- Inspect the vehicle
- Photograph or video the vehicle
- Document visible damage
- Identify areas of concern
- Confirm customer requests
- Review estimated completion timing
- Obtain required service agreements and signatures
Customers must provide working keys and disclose information reasonably necessary for Car Lab to safely service the vehicle.
Vehicle Inspection
Car Lab may perform and document a visual inspection of the vehicle upon arrival.
Documentation may include photographs or video of:
- Paint
- Body panels
- Wheels
- Tires
- Glass
- Trim
- Interior surfaces
- Existing scratches
- Rock chips
- Dents
- Paint defects
- Existing PPF
- Vinyl or wraps
- Window tint
- Aftermarket components
- Other visible damage
The check-in inspection is intended to document readily observable vehicle condition.
It is not a mechanical, structural, electrical, safety, or body-shop inspection.
Some conditions may only become visible after the vehicle has been cleaned, decontaminated, polished, disassembled, or otherwise serviced.
Customer Drop-Off Responsibilities
Before service, customers should:
- Remove valuables
- Remove cash
- Remove firearms
- Remove important documents
- Remove sensitive electronics
- Remove unnecessary personal belongings
- Remove child seats when practical for interior services
- Provide wheel-lock keys when applicable
- Notify Car Lab of aftermarket modifications
- Notify Car Lab of previous body or paint repairs
- Notify Car Lab of mechanical or electrical issues
- Notify Car Lab of alarms, immobilizers, kill switches, or special starting procedures
Personal Property
Car Lab is not responsible for personal property left in the vehicle except to the extent loss or damage is caused by Car Lab's legally actionable conduct.
Customers are strongly encouraged to remove all valuable or irreplaceable property before drop-off.
Excessive Pet Hair
Standard detailing pricing assumes ordinary vehicle conditions.
Vehicles with excessive pet hair requiring additional labor will be subject to a $50 excessive pet-hair charge.
When reasonably practical, Car Lab will notify the customer when this charge applies.
Excessive Contamination & Hazardous Conditions
Vehicles requiring extraordinary labor because of excessive mud, bodily fluids, mold, biological contamination, pests, hazardous materials, severe staining, excessive trash, or similar conditions may require additional charges or may be refused.
Car Lab reserves the right to stop work if a condition creates a health or safety concern.
Additional charges will require authorization where required.
Vehicle Condition & Service Risks
Pre-Existing Conditions
Car Lab is not responsible for damage or failure caused by pre-existing or hidden conditions, including:
- Previous repainting
- Previous body repairs
- Paint defects
- Weak or failing clear coat
- Paint delamination
- Corrosion or rust
- Brittle plastics
- Aged rubber
- Damaged clips or fasteners
- Defective trim
- Previous PPF or vinyl installations
- Aftermarket modifications
- Manufacturer defects
- Improper previous repairs
- Existing mechanical or electrical problems
This provision does not release Car Lab from responsibility for damage independently caused by Car Lab's negligence or other liability that cannot legally be waived.
Aftermarket & Modified Vehicles
Customers must disclose significant aftermarket modifications that could affect the service being performed.
Car Lab cannot guarantee the durability, construction, installation quality, or condition of aftermarket parts or modifications.
Special care may be required around:
- Aftermarket wheels
- Carbon-fiber components
- Spoilers
- Body kits
- Badges
- Electronics
- Wraps
- Trim
- Suspension components
- Other modifications
Paint Correction
Paint correction is intended to improve the appearance of vehicle paint but does not guarantee complete removal of every defect.
Some scratches, rock chips, water spots, etching, oxidation, staining, sanding marks, or other defects may be too deep to safely remove.
Car Lab prioritizes preservation of the vehicle's paint system over aggressive correction.
Results will vary based on vehicle age, paint condition, paint thickness, previous repairs, and contamination.
Ceramic Coatings
Ceramic coatings improve:
- Gloss
- Chemical resistance
- Hydrophobic performance
- Ease of maintenance
Ceramic coatings do not make a vehicle:
- Scratch-proof
- Rock-chip-proof
- Water-spot-proof
- Maintenance-free
Unless otherwise instructed:
- Keep the vehicle dry for at least 24 hours following installation.
- Do not wash the vehicle for seven days.
- Follow all aftercare instructions.
- Avoid automatic brush-style car washes.
Applicable warranty terms are provided separately.
Paint Protection Film
Paint Protection Film, or PPF, is intended to reduce damage from normal road debris and environmental exposure.
PPF cannot prevent every form of damage.
Because PPF is installed by hand onto complex vehicle surfaces, minor visual characteristics may occur around:
- Complex curves
- Seams
- Edges
- Sensors
- Emblems
- Highly contoured surfaces
Car Lab's goal is a professional installation consistent with accepted industry practices.
Product and workmanship warranties are governed by separate written warranty terms.
Removal of PPF, Vinyl, Decals & Adhesives
Removal of existing PPF, vinyl, decals, emblems, adhesive, or similar materials carries inherent risks.
These risks are greater when the underlying surface has been:
- Repainted
- Repaired
- Damaged
- Improperly prepared
- Previously compromised
Paint, clear coat, trim, adhesive, or other surfaces may fail during removal because of pre-existing conditions.
Car Lab is not responsible for underlying surface failure caused by defective, previously repaired, aged, or compromised surfaces, except to the extent Car Lab independently causes damage through negligence.
Window Tint
Window film may require a curing period.
Temporary haze, moisture pockets, or other curing characteristics may be visible during this period.
Customers must follow all aftercare instructions.
The vehicle owner remains responsible for compliance with applicable tint laws unless Car Lab expressly represents otherwise in writing.
Customer-Supplied Products
Car Lab may decline to install customer-supplied coatings, films, parts, chemicals, accessories, or other products.
If Car Lab agrees to use a customer-supplied product, Car Lab does not warrant that product's:
- Quality
- Compatibility
- Durability
- Performance
- Manufacturer warranty eligibility
Unless expressly agreed in writing.
Vehicle Custody
Vehicle Operation
Customers authorize Car Lab employees and approved subcontractors to:
- Start the vehicle
- Move the vehicle
- Park the vehicle
- Load or unload the vehicle
- Transport the vehicle
- Reasonably road-test the vehicle
When necessary to perform or verify authorized services.
Keys, Alarms & Security Systems
Customers are responsible for providing functioning keys and any instructions required to safely operate the vehicle.
Customers should notify Car Lab of:
- Aftermarket alarms
- Immobilizers
- Kill switches
- Air suspension procedures
- Unusual starting procedures
- Other vehicle-specific systems
Weather & Events Outside Our Control
Car Lab will exercise reasonable care while vehicles are in our custody.
Car Lab is not responsible for loss caused solely by events outside our reasonable control, including:
- Severe weather
- Hail
- Flooding
- Fire not caused by Car Lab
- Vandalism
- Theft despite reasonable precautions
- Utility failure
- Government action
- Similar events outside our control
Except where applicable law imposes responsibility.
Completion & Pickup
Estimated Completion Times
Completion dates and times are estimates unless Car Lab expressly guarantees a deadline in writing.
Completion times may be affected by:
- Vehicle condition
- Additional authorized work
- Curing requirements
- Material delays
- Staffing
- Weather
- Equipment issues
- Other circumstances
Car Lab will make reasonable efforts to communicate significant delays.
Completion Notification
Car Lab will contact the customer when the vehicle is ready for pickup.
Notification may be provided through:
- Telephone
- Text message
- Install Studio notification
- Other communication methods provided by the customer
Car Lab may retain records of completion notifications.
Final Inspection
Whenever practical, Car Lab will provide the customer an opportunity to inspect the vehicle at pickup.
Customers are encouraged to raise questions or concerns during the final walk-around.
If a concern is discovered after pickup, the customer should contact Car Lab promptly and provide reasonable documentation.
Opportunity to Inspect & Remedy
Before arranging third-party corrective work related to an alleged issue with Car Lab's services, customers should provide Car Lab a reasonable opportunity to inspect the vehicle and determine whether the issue relates to our work.
Nothing in this section eliminates rights or remedies that cannot legally be waived.
Payment
Final Payment
Payment is due upon completion unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Applicable deposits and credits will be applied to the final invoice.
Car Lab may retain possession of a vehicle for amounts lawfully due for authorized services to the extent permitted under Colorado law.
Payment Disputes & Chargebacks
Customers are encouraged to contact Car Lab directly regarding billing or service concerns.
Initiating a chargeback or payment dispute does not independently cancel amounts that are lawfully owed under an authorized transaction.
Car Lab may provide transaction records to a financial institution or payment processor, including:
- Signed agreements
- Estimates
- Photographs
- Communications
- Invoices
- Work orders
- Approval records
- Service documentation
Storage
Storage Charges
Customers are expected to retrieve completed vehicles promptly after notification.
Where permitted by applicable law and properly authorized, Car Lab's storage rate is:
$45 per day
Storage charges will only be imposed in accordance with applicable law and any required separate storage authorization.
Vehicles Left at Car Lab
Vehicles left at Car Lab for an extended period may be handled according to applicable Colorado law.
Nothing in these Terms gives Car Lab the right to sell, dispose of, or otherwise take ownership of a vehicle except through procedures allowed by law.
Warranties & Aftercare
Warranty Terms
Manufacturer warranties, Car Lab workmanship warranties, ceramic coating warranties, PPF warranties, tint warranties, and other product warranties are governed by their separate written warranty terms.
The applicable written warranty controls:
- Coverage
- Duration
- Exclusions
- Maintenance requirements
- Claim procedures
- Remedies
Aftercare
Customers are responsible for following aftercare instructions supplied by Car Lab and applicable product manufacturers.
Improper washing, harsh chemicals, neglect, accidents, physical damage, environmental contamination, or failure to perform required maintenance may affect product performance and warranty eligibility.
Maintenance Plans & Recurring Services
If a customer purchases a recurring or automatically renewing maintenance plan, membership, or subscription, the specific terms shown at enrollment will govern:
- Price
- Billing frequency
- Renewal period
- Included services
- Cancellation procedure
- Minimum commitment, if any
Automatic renewal terms will be disclosed separately before enrollment.
Customers will not be enrolled in recurring billing simply by purchasing a one-time service.
Communications
By providing a phone number or email address, customers authorize Car Lab to send communications reasonably related to:
- Appointments
- Estimates
- Vehicle status
- Invoices
- Warranties
- Maintenance reminders
- Customer service
Marketing communications will be handled according to applicable law and consent preferences.
Customers may opt out of marketing communications without preventing transactional or service-related communications where permitted.
Photography & Media
Car Lab may photograph or video vehicles for:
- Condition documentation
- Quality control
- Service records
- Warranty administration
- Insurance matters

Marketing use may require separate customer authorization where appropriate.
Car Lab will not intentionally publish personally identifying customer information as part of vehicle marketing content without authorization.

Unless otherwise stated, Car Lab's website content, photographs, videos, branding, graphics, logos, service descriptions, and original materials are owned by or licensed to Car Lab Detailers, LLC.

- Scheduling

Those providers may have their own terms and privacy practices.

Car Lab is not responsible for losses resulting from:
- Pre-existing vehicle conditions
- Previous repairs
- Repainting
- Manufacturer defects
- Mechanical or electrical failures unrelated to our work
- Aged or defective materials
- Undisclosed modifications
- Events outside our reasonable control
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Car Lab's liability for a claim directly arising from its services will be limited to the reasonable cost of repairing damage caused by Car Lab or re-performing the affected service, as appropriate.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Car Lab will not be responsible for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, including:
- Lost profits

Certain services may require separate agreements, including:

If a service-specific agreement conflicts with these Terms regarding that specific service, the service-specific agreement will control for that issue.

Electronic copies of agreements, estimates, authorizations, invoices, and related records may be provided to customers electronically.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, any legal proceeding arising from these Terms or services performed by Car Lab shall be brought in a court of competent jurisdiction in Larimer County, Colorado.
Severability
If any provision of these Terms is determined to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect to the fullest extent permitted by law.
No Waiver
